Anyone cover their audio equipment from dust and spills?

I don't know why but my place suffers from excessive dust. I'd wipe something down and in a week there's a layer of dust already on it. When I blew out the dust in my old receiver the inside was just totally covered with it. Now that I got a new receiver I want it looking new inside and out. Any online site that sells nice looking dust covers? I was thinking a large black cloth would work for dust but not so much for a small spill or a splash of liquid.

Just make sure you're not getting something that's so tight fitting that you block the ventilation...or you don't have the covers on when using the equipment.

Your receiver my be different, but mine has vent slots all across the top and I'd worry more about trapping in heat than keeping dust out.

I do realize that receivers put out quite a bit of heat so any covers will be removed when in use. I'm actually going to use some computer fans to come on when the receiver is turned on to blow air across the receiver to help keep it cool.

it sounds to me that you might need to have your hvac duct work cleaned.each time the system running they will spread dust quite quickly.
