Just wondering. The Antecs are supposed to have "Low Noise Technology". They're fairly new, so I was just wondering if anyone has companed this to a Zalman (which is made for silent running).

I have a QuietPC PS which works really well. Its very quiet, almost completely silent. The only problem with quiet PS is that once you get them the other parts of your system become more noisy. Now I have had to upgrade the CPU heatsink fan (with a Zalman 6000) and the case fans (from Sunon to Enermax). Now I feel like my keyboard is noisy.

If you seach with google enough you can find a review in german i think it was comparing an antec PP412X an enermax 350w and a zalman.

The noise went enermax>antec>zalamn

The PP412X isn't one of those truepower ones so ... but whatever.

BTW zalman vs pcquiet doesn't matter, they're like exactly the same. Zalman had some sorat low voltages, like 4.96 instead of 5 (OMG NO!) hehe but that and its only a 300w ps, i got a pp412x which i'm really happy with.

the new antec powersupplys can't be any worse than the pp412x so i'd pick the truepower

Yes, well, I want the quietest thing I can get. The question now is whether the Zalman can supply enough on th 12V line to make a Asus P4S333 and OC'd 1.6a happy.

Might check out this option if price is no object-

Silence

Otherwise, I'd be inclined to try a Zalman, even though I have no experience with either one. Just don't load it down with pointless hardware, you know, those old 4.3gig and 6.5gig drives that some guys drag from box to box.... cdrom, cdrw, and dvd.... and a separate controller card for all that stuff....

If price were no object I'd get the PC Power and Cooling one.. at $180. I meant more of a reasonable sub-$100 PSU.. my fault for not mentioning that. But that's why I'm looking specifically at these two brands.
