Anyone check out the 2013 Toyota Avalon hybrid? Update: I drove one tonight.

This car is screaming for a set of Yosemite Sam mudflaps.

I've driven the Focus Titanium and was really impressed with it. What are you averaging for fuel economy?

31.4mpg since the 1000 mile mark.

28 in town and 34mpg hwy on average. I drive in the left lane 100% of the time on the freeway so anywhere from stop & go to 80mph on the highway.

When my commute changed and my commuter buddy quit and took his Prius with him there was no way I was driving stick in a turbo sports sedan in log jam bay area traffic any longer on my daily 30 mile each way commute.

I miss the power - don't miss anything else.

Not the point. 268 HP while everyone else has moved on to 300+

Typical modern Toyota with no horsepower bumps for a decade at a time.
pretty sure the 2gr or some variant of it still in all toyota or lexus v6 models

Spending $300 a month on gasoline makes me a baller yo! I should buy a Dodge Ram 2500 so I can feel safe and spend $500 a month in fuel. Or better yet, a Vette so I can sit in traffic and look cool and spend $400 a month in fuel.

My commute is 60 miles round trip if I take the 78 freeway which is always congested. There is another route I can take that is about 5 miles longer but never congested so I actually get about 1-2mpg better mileage and knock about 5-10 minutes off my commute taking that route but then I'm driving 70 miles round trip.

Sounds like what you need is a 2003 Maxima. Nothing more.

We might eventually upgrade my wife's vehicle and I'll just start driving hers. It has 30,000 fewer miles on it than my car does.

Lexus IS250 here I come! :ninja:

Get it right. You drive the truck but keep the vette waxed and parked outside in plain view all the time on the street or in the driveway even though your garage is empty :awe:

I'd be happy if I could fit 2 cars in our garage. Right now it's just my wife's Lexus, my Ducati and a bunch of junk. Ideally, I'd like to park 2 cars and the bike in there but I don't know how I could possibly make that happen.

Maybe I'll park the bike in the living room.

Car doesn't have to eat gas to be fun. I was more poking at fun him not wanting to deal with a stick in traffic. If my wife wasn't so against it I'd have a Miata.

Remember, I practice what I preach as I drive a CR-Z 6MT. I have about a 50 mile daily commute and get 40mpg. Works for me and I'm certainly not bored to death or beat up afterwards.

Yeah, the CR-Z wouldn't work for me. If I get a 2 seater it will be a Lotus Elise. :p But I won't drive that 60-70 miles a day either. That would be third car status... someday. ;)

No no no, you're supposed to HAVE room in the garage to park, but you prioritize random strangers and neighbors seeing what kind of car you have over protecting your car and keeping it out of the weather. :p It's the American way.

It's funny how that works, I'll be driving through a random neighborhood and see people with beaters parked in garages and not caring while all the BMWs and Corvettes and stuff like that are parked in the driveway as the occupant walks into the empty garage and closes the door behind them.

That's crazy. My bike and my wife's car are in the garage always. I don't park any vehicles in my driveway, the Maxima gets parked on the street just so that my sprinklers don't make water spots on my wheels and paint.

Ever since we've owned a house with a garage we've had as many vehicles as we could fit in it safely parked in the garage every night.

That's what normal people who aren't attention whores do.
