Anyone catch Glee on Fox yesterday?

Its not showing till the fall but the pilot/preview was on tonight.

Show was pretty good. I liked most of the characters plot was interesting. I thought the songs in their were excellent as well.

The Latina chick in there is smokin also.

I just hope I don't get hooked like Terminator and they cancel it.

VERY cliche--the school has 1 cripple, 1 overachiever, 1 boisterous black girl, 1 jock with an artistic heart, 1 effeminate kid. That said, a number of the actors are accomplished Broadway performers who I've followed for years, so I'm really hoping it is good.

they advertised the crap out of it and gave it a prime spot after American Idol, but it still left me with a blasé feeling.
besides Deadly Catch was on. 😛

I watched about 15 minutes and then opted to go to sleep instead. It seems decent but not the next coming of AD or anything. It reminded me of Election and Mean Girls a bit.

bon jovi reels me in every time.

:music: dead or alive :music:

Thought it was pretty good and I'll probably watch it this fall. Not that impressed with the jock - I don't think he's that great as far as his singing goes.

The tv was still on fox after the wife watched AI, so I saw about 10-15 minutes of Glee. That is some major major major suckage. Hopefully it goes away quickly.

So we get another American Idol show?

No, this is a scripted show. Kind of a cross between Fame and The OC, but with voiceovers. Yes, I'm skeptical, too.

Definitely Election - a lot of the blogs mention that reference too.

I kept the TV on Fox while I was on the computer...I like the show, but that's mostly because I love singing and this is like an extended broadway musical. 😛 The directing is quite odd, with a lot of small quirks, but so far I like it.

I guess we'll see how it does in the fall, when it actually premieres.

Good music. Silly characters (hispanic chick is super hot though). They laid it out pretty well I suppose with the "wacky marriage" and the weird teacher that likes the glee club guy.

Not sure what direction it will go but I don't watch a lot of TV.

Yay for more kitchen reality shows and music-related slop on FOX... *groan*

The show looks full of itself from the ads, can already tell I wouldn't like the characters.

Jayma Mays plays the weird teacher (nutritionist?) - the scene where she signed up to be a chaperon and the camera stayed on her while she had her eyes WIDE OPEN was creepy and hilarious.

She's oddly attractive...I think it's mostly the thought of "redhead, check. weirdo, check. must be a total freak in bed."

I actually liked it. Is it the best show out there? Absolutely not. But it was good enough for me to at least watch 2 or 3 more episodes when it begins airing in the fall.

I can't believe you people watched that. The 'trailer' was probably the cheesiest and plain boringest (YES IT'S A WORD) thing ever.

Like Fingolfin said, that "You think this is hard?" line in the trailer was sooo terrible I actually laughed

I like it 'cause it doesn't take itself seriously. Ryan Murphy was on NPR's Fresh Air a few days ago promoting Glee and played some clips. I thought the guy playing Kurt was a girl until I watched the show last night. O.O

The kids are okay, but Jane Lynch deserves a better show. She pops up occasionally on Two and a Half Men playing Charlie Sheen's shrink, Dr. Freeman.

I had always hoped that they would spin off a series for her based on that character.

Jane Lynch was also good in a handful of 'Old Christine' episodes as a gym teacher. She's funny but not someone I would build a show around.

I actually heard that interview and decided to record it based off that. There wasn't any chance of me watching it otherwise since I don't watch Idol.

Blah in context of the show it was actually pretty funny. 😛
