Anyone catch Deadwood last night?

I'm wondering myself if it was just "a flesh wound" and he'll be back. But it was the setup in the way he really died...so I don't know.

My wife almost threw stuff at the TV when he was shot. She wasn't happy about him biting it in the 4th episode.
 
err, if this is a historically accurate series (seems like it is), doesn't it make sense that he should REMAIN dead?

anyways, last night's ep was good. now that i know the series is based on history, i like it even more...
 
Wild Bill is dead and I don't see how he would be coming back. He got shot in the back of the head while playing poker, which is consistent with the way he died in real life. If you want to semi-spoil the series for yourself, do some googling on historical bios on the characters.

If the series is about any one person, it's Seth Bullock, that was pretty clear from the beginning. I figured they would keep Wild Bill around for a few more episodes than they did, but they pretty much had to kill him in the first season to generate major conflict -- and get the series renewed!
 
I was upset they didnt show his cards, thats one of the most famous things about the shooting is the "dead mans hand", but they didnt freakin show it in the show

I've seen a few reviews that criticize the show because only keith carradine (wild bill) has any charisma. This is a totally ridiculous criticism, though, because that's the POINT. Wild bill was charismatic. Bullock is the strong, silent type. Like clint eastwood in unforgiven.

I really like this show. Although I can't stop thinking about Newheart when the innkeep is on screen. Where are darryl and darryl???
