i got my head buzzed #2 and need to keep it trimmed.

im planning on buying a wahl clipper and just slapping the #2 on it and going over my head a bunch of times.... seems pretty safe to me.

am i missing something?

I just make my wife do it for me, takes her a lot less time than it takes me win I attempt to do it on my own. I know some people who do their own hair with no problems though.

I bought some clippers last summer. I like trimming my own hair, though I usually don't go lower than 4 or 5. It just takes a little practice. What I've found (for me) is that:

-It cuts easier with wet, freshly showered hair.
-It's more effective to cut "against the grain" so to speak, that is when my hair is long it leans in a certain direction, so I cut against it (front to back works well for me).
-Cut standing over a toilet to save on cleanup.
-Once you think you're done, comb or brush your hair as upright as possible. Check for evenness and trim as necessary.

No, I've been wanting to, but the wife is against it.
I did, however, buzz and then shave HER head just before christmas!

She is undergoing Chemotherapy and her hair had begun to fall out, making a mess everywhere.

i've been shaving my head (on and off) for 5 years. you're bound to miss spots at first, but just use a mirror and a bare hand to double check uneven spots. after a while though, you can do it with your eyes closed.

as someone else recommended though, try and get someone else to do it for you. 😛
