Anyone buying the new TMX Elmo to resell ?

There was a story I heard yesterday morning on my local radio station. They do a clip called the Brady report, where Brady reports the most odd and under reported stories (the kind of stuff we see here alot) he can find on the net.

Yesterday a guy got held up by "Hot Wheels" at a Kmart or whatever for his TMX, at gun point. He had originally bought two and given one to an old lady who hadn't had gotten one before they sold out for her grandchildren, the other was for his own kid. Police were unable to track down 'Hot Wheels'.

Elmo has been retailing for 39.99, and is going for upwards of 100 on ebay.

If you can find them, they are going for $40 retail. I have even seen some Walmarts at $34.88.

I went on a hunt for 'em today to buy/resell on ebay. Can't find the damn things anymore...I'm goin back to Target/Wal-Mart come Monday morning for the shipments.

I also called Fisher Price to try and set up a partnership because a friend has a store that I could have used to purchase the elmos. But, when I called they immediately said "we aren't sending any more elmos till January". So, I'm assuming all the big name stores bought out all the Elmos they had, meaning, I think there WILL be a shortage come Christmas time and that people will be paying $200+ for a elmo.

That is just dumb.

I don't want to buy one, but I wouldn't mind playing with one in the store.
