Exact same? No, thats dull. But I generally get some sort of Aasics for running shoes when the old ones wear out.
For walking around I used to get Vans all the time but the past two generations have been much less comfortable than they used to be. Will not buy them anymore.
Mom showed me an SAS store and I got some nice shoes for work. They're great for standing and walking around but not much else. As nice as they are I will buy another pair when these ones disintegrate. Only problem is they cost about 10 times as much as Vans, so it will be many years before I give the current shoes to the trash.

For work boots I like Red Wings, and after 6 years I have not worn out my current pair.
My hiking/street boots are Wolverines. They have lots of insulation and are waterproof but after 4 years they still arent broke in yet. Not very comfortable for long walks. May have to toss them. They also slip on the ice. Next pair will be good for ice and much more comfortable.

For dress I have Bostonians I never wear and some black leather Sketchers I rarely wear.
300&

Dont need to replace any time soon.

Also have nice sandals from Kohls, as opposed to all the shower shoes everyone else wears.

Oui. I am very anal when it comes to shoes so when I find a pair I can wear comfortably I stick with it.

I buy the same Rockports over and over. I walk 2 miles every day in the city so they wear down quick. Every six months I replace them. I started wearing sneakers to and from work so that should prolong the life of the shoes.

Always buy new balance running shoes. I wear them out in about a years time playing basketball, running, going to the gym, etc. They have to be new balance but no particular model, just as long as they are running shoes and on sale.

Unfortunately no. New Balance keeps changing models for their cross trainer, off road shoes. Each year the quality gets worse but since NB is the only company that makes shoes to fit feet I'm stuck buying the ever crappier shoes.

I used to buy Birkenstocks - Bostons for 10 years, one pair a year.

Decided to move on and found clogs MUCH more comfortable from Merrel.

Running shoes though - I tend to buy the same shoes, Asics Gel Nimbus 9, I think I am on my 4th pair, hard to find these days, but ebay is definitely the way to go.

I must have had 15+ pairs of these over my lifetime.

I buy the exact same shoe every ~2 years. It only started a few years ago though, when a friend told me he bought the same shoes every time. I found it odd at first, but then it made sense... if they fit well and are just plain good, why not buy another one when it is time?

Years ago ..60's-70's...I would always have a pair of white Converse All Stars (Chuck Taylor). I bought at least one pair every year. So yes.

I resole my dress shoes ~every year, but rarely buy new ones. Running shoes? Same ones for the last 4 years, I don't run outside though.

Every year I go out and I buy a pair of these:
http://www.amazon.com/New-Balance-Me.../dp/B001792H5O

I've been doing this since I was 17. Back then I think it was the 990 or the 991s. Now it's the 993s.

But every year I effectively buy the same pair of shoes.

Anyone else do this? If so, what shoes do you buy the same of over and over.

Rockport ProWalker.

i spent 2hrs in the Rockport store during my lunch hour (love my job) and literally tried EVERY pair of shoes. the ProWalkers felt the best.

i'm on my 3rd pair in 6 yrs. i also bought a new pair when they had a 40% sale. so i'm set for another 4 yrs

edit:
i need to buy a new pair of gym sneakers. THe ones i bought at Walmart 5yrs ago is falling apart. need to spend 2hrs at walmart and try on every pair of their sneakers, again, since they no longer make the same model. unfotunately, it'll be on my own time. there's no SuperWalmart near work :(

When I was younger - I wanted the coolest looking shoe. However, as you get older, your body starts to want a certain shoe type - so I can answer yes - I try to find the same style/brand ~6 months [if the store has a sale on shoes - ie: buy 1, get 1 free - I'll buy 2 pairs]. You should buy a new pair every season as the materials and support break down. I recently found a pair of Nike's on sale which are much better than what I was previous wearing - so I'll be buying the Nike's next time [while keeping my eye out if they go on sale]

For running, I usually go thru a pair of shoes every 3 months, so I buy 2-3 at a time. Running shoes can go thru a lot of updates(for good and bad), so it depends if I'll buy the next year's version.

I buy the exact same pair of shoes roughly every three to four years. Casual = New Balance (I would have to look up the part number) and formal = Hush Puppies (I would have to look up the part number). I have two different colors of the same model of Hush Puppies.

that sounds super boring.
You would probably not like how I deal with things around the house. I prefer to buy only white sheets, table cloths, towels, bath cloths, undergarments, etc. so I can just wash them all with bleach. I hate cloth that is colored, except for the clothing that I wear, since I do not want to walk around with an obvious stain on me before I can bleach it and it is rather odd to dress in solid white. Usually, I wear the exact same clothes in the winter as in the summer, except I might add some insulated undergarments and wear a jacket. All of my clothing is mono-colored (save for the odd t-shirt) made using of a mixture of polyester (to prevent wrinkles) and cotton.

I bought my first pair of these in 1975:

SmokeJump(W)300.jpg

IIRC, they were about $140 back then.

I've owned perhaps 10 pairs of them since...and still have a pair in the garage that I put on when I'm working outside.

They really haven't changed much over the years. My feet have changed a bit, so I've had size changes and width changes, but still the best-made pair of work boots money can buy.

My "tennies" have changed over the years though as my feet have changed. New Balace has been my "shoe of choice" for more than 15 years because they're really the only company that makes shoes to fit my "flintstone feet." (12 EEEE)

Every 6 to 9 months, I buy a new pair of running shoes, keeping the same brand and model, though they've refreshed the model number a few times.

Brooks "Adrenaline GTS9"

regular shoes I've been through so many different styles, usually keep one for a few years and when I see it's basically completely worn out and distressed looking, I figure it's time for something new.
