how do you buy silver jewelry? Are there certain specs you need to consider to make sure that what you buys is high quality? I want to get a some kind of silver pendant/necklace for the s/o, but I dont want it to end up looking like the 50 dollar cheap metal you can get from a kiosk.

They really all almost look the same to me, so I dont know how to buy.

suggestions?

or if you guys believe silver is not a good idea(kind of cheap compared to platinum, gold, pearl), then please let me know. budget = 200 to 250. platinum is too expensive.

white gold is pretty nice (I typically get my s/o white gold)

For silver, Sterling silver is typically fine.

stay away from silver. it lusters because it's coated with nickel. When your skin dissolves the nickel you will have a nasty grey metal, that cannot be cleaned much and will have a dull look. Stick with gold or nothing.

silver is cheap as well, running less than $1 a gram.

Sterling shines up quite nicely, and it's easy to remove light tarnish

I'd recommend more research into the value, but I'd say you're looking for Sterling (92.5%) or Fine (99.9%) silver
