I'll probably buzz through the stores around here to see, but it looks like I'm probably going to end up snagging a 1400x1050 monitor for my secondary monitor. They're fairly reasonable on newegg. About $180...but newegg's dead pixel policy is shat so they're out. If it has any, its a return to store affair for me! Amazon lists the westinghouse...sold through tigerdirect. I didn't think people had a great opinion of them around here, particularly with regards to rebates.

If I bought it through amazon...is that any different then buying straight from tigerdirect?

I got a killer deal on an Acer 22" from Staples.com about a month or two ago. Another advantage of buying from them is that you can just take it back to a store and don't have to ship it back if you're not satisfied. I only paid 199 and got free shipping. Granted it's not the best monitor in the world but at that price I couldn't refuse.

The only major complaint I have is that on a totally black screen (such as at boot up), there is some backlight bleed through but any other time it's completely unnoticable.

I've ordered only once from Tiger and had no problems with them (I bought a case) and I ordered a mobo from them the other day which has yet to arrive so I can't comment on that. However, I would NEVER buy anything from them that relies on rebates because ripoffreport.com is FULL of complaints about their rebates. Truthfully I don't mess with MIR's anyway I think they're crooked and stupid. Also I hear the customer service at Tiger totally blows.

I would have gotten the case and mobo at Newegg but Newegg doesn't carry Ultra products for some reason and Tiger has the mobo for 20 bucks cheaper.

After looking it doesn't seem that Staples or Best Buy has any sales going on right now for monitors so I guess you're SOL on that end.

Yeah, there was a good deal on a 1400x1050 westinghouse at best buy...or at least an ok deal at $199 a couple days ago. But I went to their website and now its up to $269. :(

That's not necessarily true. One time I bought something online from staples and they wouldn't take it back at a store. However staples truck came and picked it up free of charge.
