I bought one, died after one day. RMA'd it and the new one works great. And I know I'm not the only one here that has had the exact same experience with Monarch and the Neo2.

There seem to be alot of "dying' problems with this board. Not where it is DOA, but dies very quickly after install. My guess is that it's a QC issue with MSI. I hadn't really thought about this before, but it is quite possible Monarch received a bad batch of them.
I know Ayman had very similar problems with his Neo2 from Monarch which was bought right around the same time I got mine.

I ordered te Neo2 from Monarch. First board up and died on the third boot. 3 weeks later I got my RMA back, alas this board is DOA. It will run till the bios screen, but then it will just hang at floppy drive controller initialization (so says the d-bracket) Now it looks like I will be waiting another month to get my computer up and running.

<-- MSI's QC has always sucked, its why I won't buy their motherboards, if you get a good one it's great, but it's a crapshoot to see if you get a working board that will be stable. + their RMA / CS is awful.

I ordered the MSI K8N Neo2, Athlon64 3200+ Winchester (with 6mo. warranty for $9 more), and a ThermalTake Tsunami early January. I have had absolutely no problems with any of them ever.

Actually if I remembered right there was some issues with early revision chipseys and ...guess what!! antec true and neopower PSU failing to restart and/or start after shutdowns....Didnt mean they were dead....Some where able to fix them by using a bios 1.37mod....Others likely sent them back to monarch who tested them on something other then an Antec and they started....Some ppl (etailers) I have talked to said about 2/3rds of everything you ppl send back runs fine back at the store....USER ERROR!!!

Notice how the neo2 boards appear to be quite plentiful on the refurbs at some of the major sites...those are some of the boards from the ppl who had issues. It is easy to blame the mobo when it can be other things....

I am not saying Ike's wasn't bad as he actually tried quite a few things.....1 board?? Yeah that can happen....2 boards not likely!!!

So if u bought one from monarch, plz post, and say how its performed for u. Maybe I just got unlucky. Thanks in advance

Well, the reason you may see more failures on that board is because we sold more of that board than any other AGP 939 pin m/b. Actual failure percentage rates are in-line with most other boards out there from our numbers.
