Anyone build one of these?

I'm familiar with carbide cannons which make acetylene from reacting water with calcium carbide. Large ones are loud enough to rattle windows a mile away but they are messy and hard to automate. This looks interesting and we have a few extra 100# tanks that are nearly full.

We had them all over the place to keep the birds from eating cherries and whatnot. Maybe you can build them, but I thought the farmers just bought them.

Yeah they sell them in the Northern Hydraulics catalog. I understand they are about as loud as a 12 gauge shotgun which is good for busting birds, etc. I want a deeper boom like a field cannon.

I want something that makes a nice boom but don't want the hassle of messing with propellants.

It uses propane gas to cause a detonation sounding very similar to a shotgun.

Isn't that descriptive enough?
