I noticed that MWAVEs price is $114 shipped and Neweggs price is $127 shipped. Ouch! Is one OEM and the other Retail? For those who bought their board from MWAVE, did it come in a retail box? Thanks

Yes, they are an excellent company. They always seem to have some of the best prices on Epox boards...:)

Still undecided on the Audigy/8RDA versus the 8RDA+

I was reminded the other day that - "Creative Labs tests on Intel chipsets and if you wish to use another you better pray". I know this is true because when I (and many thousands of others) had compatibility problems with the SBLive and the VIA chipset their party line was "Not our problem - we test on Intel chipsets". I always blamed VIA and never knew until a few days ago that the problem was actually caused by the SBLive. VIA eventually resolved the issue but AFAIK Creative never took any responsibility at all.
Take your chances if you wish, but don't forget to pray. I bough the 8rda+ at mwave and have no regrets.

Remember that the 8RDA+ gives you more than just the nVidia APU. It also gives you a fifth and sixth USB 2.0 port and Firewire, and both items are native to the southbridge, leaving your PCI bus' bandwidth (and your PCI slots) wide open for other devices. I think the + model is worth the extra, and you can always disable the APU and gameport if you don't want to use it.

After an unsuccessful and little bit frustrating experience with twco.com (took my order, charged me, but didn't actually have it in stock), I ordered an 8RDA+ from mwave.com. Seemed like excellent service to me and they shipped it out quickly.

I got my 8RDA+ from Mwave... Retail box shipped quickly at a good price.... Very satisfied with the service I got from them, and will order from them again for sure...

As far as the Onboard sound, I think once you try it, you will be pretty impressed. I was using a TB Santa Cruz soundcard on my previous board (8KHA+), and I am very happy with the onboard sound as a replacement.... I don't think I will EVER own another SB card though.....

Yes, got my 8RDA+ from Mwave cuz my usual place to shop(newegg) didnt have them in stock and i got tired of waiting.

Ordered next day shipping and got it next day.
Retail boxed everything was there.

1st mobo i ever used that I actually am not using a single pci slot.

I have yet to extensively "test" the onboard sound against my SB soundcards in my other systems, but from
what ive heard so far, i believe all the pci slots on my 8RDA+ will continue to stay empty unless i feel the need to add
raid in the future.

Would i order from them again?
Yep, without hesitation. ;)

I think Newegg is making too much money, and hence, some of us might be experiencing the beginning to the end of their "quality" customer service. Their products are starting to cost considerably more than other vendors, and the goods that they ship out are not as good as they once were. I recently ordered a motherboard from them, and it came in a static bag that was open (as if someone went through it) with a cracked driver CD and no paper manual. Hmmmm, I thought they sent me a refurbished board. Maybe they did, because the board's video performance was somewhat "flawed." I didn't want to RMA it at my cost. I think I'm done dealing with Newegg.

:Q Do you upgrade every week? I thought I was bad...but going from an 8RDA to an 8RDA+...I think that constitutes a fanatic! Heh heh.
