Newegg selling the plextors Refurbished at a fairly good price. My eye is set at their Plextor 12\10\32s for $200 after tax. Wonder anyone bought their Refurbished drive before? They give a 30 days warrenty on those drives.

My first thought is to get and test it out if its bad just return it.

Any thought/comment/suggestion?

Thanks guys/gals.

I would not reccommend it. Once a cd burner dies, it cannot be repaired, or it is too complicated or something. You would be better off buying a new burner

People on the For sale/trade forum sells and trade their cd-rw all the time. My first thought is its from a store and got warrenty.

Is 30 days good enought time to determine its a faulty drive?

I've bought refurbed CD-RWs before. I had an extremely bad experience.
Bought one... it was bad... RMA'd it. Got it's replacement... it was bad... RMA'd for a store credit instead. I do have to give the vendor credit, they were easy to work with. I guess they get a lot of RMA's!
It wouldn't have been so bad if I was buying them for myself. But I was building a system for someone else.

They were NOT Plextors though. I have heard that Plextor does a good job on their refurbs.
