Years' ago, Crazy Eddie had radio and TV ads claiming their prices were "insane!"...the people who were insane, were the customers who bought from them in the first place !
Crazy Eddie was an electronics store, in Brooklyn, NY and claimed they sold everything electronics related. They were caught selling "repacks"; for those that don't know what this is, it's when a store or retailer sells items to customers who think the stuff is new, but actually the stuff was first brought back by another customer as a return (didn't matter what the reason) and the second customer didn't know...they did so much of this that one had a problem believing if anything they sold was "new". The word on the street was be very careful. Not only that, they played games with their financials and sold (unloaded) their stock to the unsuspecting public before it crashed; then took the dough and fled the country. A number of family members took part in this fraud; the SEC was able to recover some of the loot; I think some of them eventually wen tot jail. You'll probably find some of this in the articles linked in a prior post.
Meanwhile, i think some of the "old" family is back...whether or not their on the up and up, who knows....couldn't care less...luckily I refused to buy from them, remember going to their old Brooklyn store years ago...
So much for that....
