Is it worth the time and effort? The few that do get through my SPAM filters are usally from one of the bigger web based mail services(ie Excite,Yahoo, etc).

Another thing, why doesn't ICANN crack down on these sites that have random letters as their URL's?

Cloudmark Spamnet works wonders.

Incidentally, if I ever, EVER meet someone who sends out spam for a living, I will stick their head in the nearest latrine and flush vigorously until they amend their ways.

Be careful, some spammers (especially overseas) run their own server, so THEY get the abuse email report. Verifying your email address for them.

Spam from overseas I won't even report. I wish there was a filter that scanned all headers and automatically deleted anything that didn't originate in the US or canada.

I've gotten a couple people's accounts terminated for spamming. Most sysadmins actually care, although when I reported spam that came to my university email address from a computer on campus, the admin that wrote back said I was reading the headers wrong (I wasn't) and denied it came from their server (it did).

whenever I get spam w/ my Yahoo account, I report through Yahoo's system. not sure how effective it is, though.
