anyone bite their tongue while sleeping?

i find that i often wake up with a sharp pain on my tongue. i think i bite the side of my tongue sometimes during sleep. i did it again today and the left side of my tongue still hurts 🙁

anybody else with this problem and know what's the cause? i'm beginning to think my tongue is just a little big.
 
nope, but i think i grind my teeth in my sleep. one day i woke up with a TMJ (cant remember what it stood for, but its basically when your jaw aches), and it lasted for a good 10 weeks (if not longer)
