sooo, me and the GF are taking our yearly Europe trip... encompassing Frankfurt->Munich->Prague->Athens->London

16 days in all, we are looking at 3+-a day or two in Athens, and I heard that the ISLANDS are a must see, and I was wondering if anyone knew a good one they would recommend down there? Romantic is fine, maybe ill propose to her haha, she would love that.

we are looking at about 4 full days in Munich, 3 in Prague, 3 in Athens, 3 in London.

giving us 3 days or so for Travel between countries. granted..Frankfurt will be brief, as I have heard there is nothing too amazing to it, but there is in Munich.

If I had more time, i would add Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow to the mix, but not enough time!

The only tickets purchased are flights TO frankfurt, and FROM London. We have also been to London, but we want to spend 2 days there at least!

**LET ME ADD -- We will be there in December-Jan.

athens can be done in a day. acropolis in the morning, archaeology museum in the afternoon. there really isn't anything else there, unless the GF like mango, zara, etc.

santorini is fantastic. take her to franco's bar and propose to her watching the sunset over the caldera.

There is more stuff to see in Athens (Agora, Syntagma Square, National Gallery, Kolonaki, etc) if they had the time. I'd also highly recommend a trip to Delphi if feasable.

Santorini is definitely well worth the visit and an ideal location to pop the question though.

Tempting, but that seems like a lot of travel, to and fro. We will look at those other locations you said though. Delfi looks more like a daytrip as well, but I am not sure if they have trains that travel into it at , ohhh say 10am, and come back to Athens around 9pm, or so....if there is that much to gander at there.

Delphi is probably good for 3-4 hours or so of stuff to look at, depending on your pace. There is regular bus service between there and Athens. About 2.5 hours each way IIRC.

I also find it cool "The center of the world" well, you know, it used to be and all.

and those pictures on google images , make it look really neat actually.

Then Delphi should be a huge hit with here. I liked it better than the Acropolis personally.

I last went during October so it was still reasonably warm, Dec-Jan will be cooler (50ish high) and more likely to be cloudy.

iirc, in the winter the weather is not very good in the greek islands and a lot of places close up.
