I'm going up to visit my girlfriend this weekend and was thinking of something to do on Saturday. How is this place? Is it only suited for little kids, or would a couple of 22 year olds have fun there? Thanks a bunch!

In Vallejo? Haven't been there in several years, but helped build several of their rides there when they expanded the park from just "Marine World" into the combo amusement park/marine world it is today. If you enjoy that sort of thing, you should have fun. Be careful, occasionally, there are gang related problems there. Not as bad as the 6-Flags Magic Mountain, but it happens...it is, afterall, Vallejo...

Yeah, that's the one I'm referring to. We'd probably enjoy the shows more than the rides but the rides are fun too. I was also looking at Great America but it appears to be closed this weekend. Do you live near the area? Any suggestions on other things to do?

there are at least five roller coasters from what i can remember, go karts, some smaller kiddie rides, animal shows (the dolphin show is pretty good, same with the jet-ski show). make sure to go on "medusa" (the big green one) when you go there if you like roller coasters, its awesome :Q theres plenty of stuff for older people to do, but little kids would have fun too.

from the couple of times ive been there over the past two years i havent had any problems with gangs like the guy above me has

list of rides

I'm about 100 miles from both. Not sure what's up with Great America...Haven't been there in a long time either. (my kids are all grown and gone), but they have some gang-related problems too...I guess they all do, to a degree...Really not a lot else to do in the Vallejo area that I know of. Drive around and watch them selling crack on the street corners...;) OR, you could take the ferry into San Fran. Nice ride, very scenic....LOTS to do there...

Edit: Schniderguy, haven't HAD any problems at any of the parks, but I AM aware that the problems exist...I do watch the news occasionally. Just be aware of where you are, and who's around you...

Alright, I think I'll get some passes then. They are also opening the halloween stuff that weekend, which my girlfriend will like.

We're going to a really nice dinner on thursday night for her birthday, wineries and a nice dinner on friday and the theme park on saturday. That should do it!

We would go to San Francisco, but I've been there quite a few times and she was just there recently as well.

Actually, anyone have good recommendations for wineries while we're at it?

i went there last year? i can't remember. It's a decent place. IN the many times i've been there (summerly when i was working with youth), i've never ran into the "gang problem". I don't consider teenagers being teenagers acting out and running around a gang. You'll probably see your share of teens running, shouting at thier friends or imitating MTV.

Have fun.
