yeh, I just a hold of a local map. there's West Gate, East Gate, Myn Dong, and many others... so which area has nightclubs? I will be staying in the North Side.

you're still there? I would've replied to this thread earlier. Last time I went I checked out all the korean clubs. Julianas under sunshine hotel is the best, all I know is that it's near the river (theres another julianas club that's in a mall, dont go to that one) Jsut ask someone and they should know since its pretty popular. Next will be club Boss (or was this club under sunshine hotel? damn I forget) Then theres others but I forgot the names to them. These are traditional korean clubs with the expensive alcohol, fruit plates, and girl booking so expect to pay a pretty amount. Sure you can go with your girlfriend and still have fun. check out Kang Nam, I forgot specifically where in Kang Nam but they have a whole block of nice bars, clubs, cafes, and other night life stuff to do. Another one of these places is Apku Jong Dong where all the Korean-Americans hang out but its not as big as Kang Nam. Theres american hip hop clubs like NB in KAng Nam and the ghetto district I forgot where but I freakin hate that clubs since its ghetto, overpacked, and dirty. Theres your typical shopping places to go to but im sure you can find that out by askin anyone. Have fun though and make sure you go out with people that know how to party and know the areas because that makes the BIG difference. I cant stress that enough.

thanks Remy.

I got a recommendation from my friend about HongDae district, it's pretty much how you described: clubs clubs and clubs. It is at the far west part of town, while I am staying at the north-east.
I have a map of Seoul and pin-pointed Juliana and KangNam district, which are both in the southern part. So I guess i am equal distant away from both district. Actually, I think I am MUCH closer to Juliana of Sunshine hotel according to the map. (Kang Nam is quite a bit of walk from Juliana right?)

yeah its a taxi drive away. I know where HongDae is. isnt that north of the river where the old school Seoul is? I think the original club NB is there. but yeah if you have only 24 hours left I say you check out Julianas and club Boss unless someone that knows better says otherwise since its been 2-3 years since ive been there.

leaving soon, me excited 🙂

anyways, at this point, I will most likely check out Juliana and Kang Nam district on Saturday night. and then on Sunday afternoon, I will either check out Myeong Dong OR Nam Dae Mun. I will fly back on that Sunday night.

seoul... ah, very western like... in fact koreans are so similar to america, even with circumcision too....

I was just at Gangnam NB (noise basement) last night
Someone became 50,000 Won richer because I must've dropped some of my money on the floor (about $50 bucks for those that don't know)
We usually get the VIP section which comes with a bottle, juices, soda, fruit plates, and etc.
I'll be at Namsan tomorrow so maybe I'll see you there. There's a fancy restaurant inside the seoul tower and you can overlook the city
You'll probably see the high tower when you drive around the Hangang river area

Picture of Tower

Start a gold farming company for WoW. Start a riot so the riot police can pwn your ass. Start a modeling company to attach hot Korean chicks.

I will be skiing in Phoenix Park till Saturday; afterwards, I will be staying in Kyung Nam Hotel (in the north east side). I don't think I will get in a club if it has a cover charge (since my buddy is not a party person). I will just walk around and take pictures of GangNam (or HongDae if I end up there instead).

so, would you recommend me to check out Myung Dong or Nam Dae Mun on sunday afternoon?

edit: back now. here's what happened (or, what did not happen )

well, Seoul was fun. We just don't have enough time and energy to check out the entire city in sub-zero temp. Anyway, so when we got back to Seoul, we checked out InsaDong (kinda nice), DongDaeMun (kinda irrevelent to us in the mid twenties), Myeng Dong (much much nicer), COEX mall, and the new Seoul Tower (very nice minus the long waiting line). Food was good, even though the Bulgugi/Galbi was not as cheap as I expected; in Los Angeles a plate of either one cost about 20-25 US, in the two restaurants we been to (one in MyengDong, one inside COEX mall), they charge 25k to 35k won. oh well.

anyway, the major disappointment was that I didn't get to check out GongNam, HongDae, Sinchon district
