So,
Me and a few friends are going to drive to ATL, watch the yanks play the braves, and come back home.

We are getting the outfield tickets - $60, which comes with all you can eat food apparently.

I want to know, how is the experience ? is the food good or bad ? and the seats as well !

Thanks !

I went to a Braves game in May of last year. I didn't get the seats you got (mine were upper-level) but IMO, there isn't a bad seat in the house. Got some food (nachos or something I think) and it was decent... about typical of any sports complex.

There's nothing wrong with the outfield seats. They are just like outfield seats at most other stadiums. The real nice thing about the outfield seats though is that they are right at the entrance to the stadium so you don't have far to walk. Also a lot of the 'gameday experience' stuff is over there as well as the better food places.

There is really not a bad seat in the place.

I got the $8 nose bleed seats and still have a great view and time.

If you plan on drinking beer while there, prepare to go broke though. Min $5 a beer.

I've despized the braves ever since that bastard traitor Sid Bream hit a 2 run double off Stan Belinda in the 9th inning of game seven of the NLCS and eliminated the pirates.
Edit: this was like 1991-1992...

Im not bitter...am i?

I went to a braves game a few years ago, and as said, there's really not a bad seat in the place. It's a great experience and while food is expensive as with all ball parks, I liked it better than the food at the Brewers stadium.

I went a few times about 10 years ago when I was living there. I've never sat in the outfield, but it seems to be a good time anywhere you sit. Most of the food and people hanging out are in that outfield plaza area. I tried to limit what I ate there (expensive!), but what I did eat seemed about average for a ballpark. You got the tix already?

http://mlbnetwork.mlb.com/atl/...eating_and_pricing.jsp

The view is probably decent out in the outfield. You can check that link above for a crappy low res pic from your section. I was happy with the sight lines from the field level, dugout level, as well as the terrace (215?, can't remember exactly what section I sat in there). I wasn't real crazy about the upper deck (401/402) compared to those other places I've sat, it's high up there, but it was damn cheap. (And not as bad as the upper decks in the old concrete bowls of the 60's/70's, those were true nose-bleed seats).

They can have some pretty dull crowds there, but with the Yankees in town, people should be charged up. You a Yankees fan? or Braves?

I went to a game last tuesday. didn't get the all you can eat seats, got some seats down along the 3rd base line. We ate at one of the restaurants there and they raped us. Probably next time we'll get the all you can eat seats. I hate watching baseball on tv, it sucks, but watching it live is cool.

The outfield seats are pretty cool, like someone said, they're right at the entrance to the stadium so you don't have to walk far. Also, there's a really nice plaza right behind the outfield that you can hang out at before and during the game.

The last time I went to a Braves home game they were playing in a different stadium (Fulton). :) I was too young to recall much, but it was Braves vs Pirates IIRC. Later that year was the 7th game "It ain't over till it's over!" win, also against the Pirates, that sent them to the World Series Championship (Back2Back!).

I don't watch or attend... I just ask fans what's up and read about how they're doin'.

Make sure to eat a Hotdog. Baseball and hotdogs are like peas in a pod.
Live baseball is fun. If you want, you can score the game while it's being played. It's basically writing down what happens on a scorecard. This should get you started. I've never had "all you can eat" seats, not sure what that is going to be like.

Beer is always expensive at every stadium. Even at the AAA league beer is $6.25.

Have fun!

Went to watch them and the Cubs last year (Cubs fan). got seats in right field lower level and they were pretty decent. Food wasn't bad but yeah, watch out for the beer. Having said that, don't skimp, it's part of the game.

What are talking about...watch out for the beer? It's a sporting venue...why would beer be cheap? At fenway, it's something like $6-7 a beer.

That's what, $14 per person? I wouldn't call that "rape". Overpriced, yes. Rape? No.

where would you draw the line for "rape"?
5 bucks for a coke with no refills. 14 bucks for a chicken finger meal that tasted like shit. the wife had a chili dog or something like that, and my mother had some sort of turkey sandwich. the kids had chicken tenders, their meals were the only decently priced thing as they were only like 7 bucks a piece, with drinks included.

I'm always surprised by how many people here hate baseball. Didn't you people play Little League when you were kids?

It's a tech forum, filled with people who were consistently picked last in gym class.

There's also a bunch of Canadian and Asian members, who are notorious for not liking most American sports.

$5 a beer should prepare people to go broke?? Shit, bars charge $4, so why would $5 at a ballpark be enough to break you?

I live 10 minutes from Yankee Stadium and we pay $8-$11 a beer there. I normally budget $50-75 for food when i go to a game.

How $5 a beer would necessiate you going broke befuddles me to the max.

Only game I saw at Fulton/whatever it's called was vs the Orioles back in the first season of Interleague. ...so 1996?

I think I was on the very last row, and I can say that place is effing steep! I got some serious vertigo when I was there.

yeah, no shit. It's now ~$6 for an Old Style at Wrigley.

let me repeat that: OLD STYLE = 6 DOLLARS AT WRIGLEY.
