I work in downtown Lansing, MI (the state capitol for you non-geographic folks). Apparently there's a bill in the state legislature to do away with helmet laws for those 21 yrs old and up.
I think every Harley and custom chopper in the state showed up at the state capitol, I stepped outside for lunch and was blasted by the sound, my ears were ringing for a while after that. There had to be at the very least 1000 bikes parked on the streets, some damn nice looking ones at that.
Had I known this was happening today I would have brought my camera with me to work, so, unfortunately, no pics .
One thing I noticed which I thought was quite amusing: out of all the bikes, there was not a single sport bike to be found. I guess they realize they need helmets when they're riding around like maniacs.
FWIW, I support removing the helmet laws. Let 'em kill themselves if they want.
