Welp I broke out the Knight 50Cal. Inline Muzzleloader today. Trying to find all my hunting gear. Bought a new battery for my Polaris 300. Its on charge now. I get excited just getting everything together! :) Going scouting Sunday evening and going to build a stand. I havn't hunted this farm in 4 years it was logged pretty heavily, so I'm just now going back to check it out again. It was a great farm to deer hunt at one time.

Has anyone been yet or going?
Wish me LUCK! :D

I haven't been in some years (time is the one thing we seem to have less and less of as we get older).
I need to get back into the woods.

Best of luck to you!

Does count in my book Nutcase99!

oldandquitemad yes you need to get back into the woods! I love the outdoors hunting and Bass fishing! Hope you get to soon! Thanks!

Fathom4 I agree you. You dont always have to take a gun in the woods! Like I said before I love just being in the woods! I take my video camera sometimes and just shoot small movies of deer and other wild life. I love to hunt but I also just like to watch wildlife when hunting seasons not in! Its so cool. I hate ticks and snakes though ;)

One week from today (10/27), I will be headed for Yuma County Colorado to what I hope will be a sucessful hunt. I've been so busy with work and school lately, I haven't had time to really dwell on it until today. I can hardly wait :D
I wish everyone good luck and a safe time on their hunt.

Buck - the one thats one handed opening? Before I bought my current knife I was looking at that one with some type of special steel blade, practically unbreakable

BuckMaster gives RagingBITCH a BIG Hug! I just now went to my gun Cabinet and was going to find the box so I could tell you the model number of the knife. Guess what it was still in the box!! Believe it or not I would of never thought to look there. I usally save my boxs for my knifes and guns scopes. I guess since I just got it I never took it out yet. Its time to break it in though!

BTW..Its just a single blade knife with the sheath. But it does have the blade your talking about. Thats the reason I bought it. I would tell you why but you would really hate me then ;) But I cant find any numbers off the box.

Thanks for helping me find my knife and Im serious! I dont think I would of looked there either. Another thanks for my 1000 post :D

if the farm was cut over 4 yrs ago, it should have about twice as many deer by now. Heavy cutting causes growth of more food plants & a major increase in deer populations.

After moving to Fl a few yrs ago, I switched to underwater hunting with a spear gun.

underwater hunting results

good luck with the deer

It's pretty easy to go deer hunting in Santa Cruz, I can spot a few every 5-10 minutes.

How much did your knife run you? I'm looking to buy one of those and possibly a throwing knife (you know, just in case ;D )

Right before my dad went into surgery last week for his heart attack he told the surgeon just to fix him up that deer season comes in next month. I think it really bothered him when they told him he wouldn't be able to go this year. Him and his hunting buddy spent 2 years fixing up a cabin where they hunt and this would be the first year they were going to actually use it. I told him I'd pull some strings so he could have a 4-wheeler to ride into the woods. I think that really made his day. It was just weird seeing my father upset over anything but he really enjoys his 2 weeks off in November. :)

RagingBITCH

Heres the Buck Knifes I own:
Buck Huning Knife Its the Fixed Blade Knife. Special Model 119.
Does this one have the blade your talking about? I bought mine at Walmart last year for around $50.00.

Heres my pocket knife:
Buck Pocket Knife 700 Series Bronco. Model 701

Cxim, Its true, and its going to be very THICK because of it.

Marauder- I need to hunt were you live :) But it takes the fun out of hunting if it makes it that easy.

AaronP Good Luck!

kantonburg, I hope your father gets well ASAP. I also hope he kills a BIG one this year. It seems your father and this friend have worked hard to have a good deer hunting place. Its very nice of you to help find a 4X4 for him to use. If you lived closed to me Id be more then happy to let your father use mine! He seems like a good DAD! :)

I just fisnihed installing my battery in my 300 4X4 Polris and its ready to go! Now that I have my knife also! Everything is ready to go. I hope my Muzzleloader is on because I dont think Im going to take it tomorrow and its not like me to not scope it in before going. I'll try to scope it in next Saturday evening after comeing out of the woods. Since it opens next Saturday.

Wave...

I usually don't go deer hunting, but I am up for turkey hunting as well as small game. I'm hoping to get out there this spring.

No more deer hunts for me.Too many out of state hunters that just come in for a drunkin male orgy. They shoot cows horses and does and anything that moves including each other. My state eliminated open liscense this year and they are on a lottery method now. That might help.

But,aside from that, the dollars invested for the hunt and the return on dressed out meat have retired my 30-06 for the deer hunt for good. (The venison steaks where all cooked up in the first week of my hunts and then the rest of the meat was not enough to impress me.)

Now ,my 30-06 comes back out for elk, bear, and wild boar. That makes the rifle hunt worthwhile, and most the cigar smoking, whiskey drinking, deer hunters don't mess up the hunt for those. Much better group of hunters,IMHO.

OMG No! I've been bird hunting, a much more civilized sport down here in Oklahoma. Here in Oklahoma and Texas, as my friend put it " All the deer hunters are rednecks ". Seriously though, it's a lot cheaper to deer hunt according to him ( his dad is a gun expert, former FBI agent). But that's not the only reason, he also said it's kind of sad to kill a baby deer, which almost all of them will do, it is also a lot easier to kill a deer that stands still with a shotgun. I know this is a stereotypical reply, but I agree with a lot that he has said.
