Alton Brown for President!! I'm pretty sure he's more intelligent and creative than ALL of the Republican and Democratic nominees PUT TOGETHER!

Probably 3rd party, even if I dont agree with them. I'm tired of the political establishment. They all suck, and they all need to go.

So who you gonna vote for? Rudy the pro-abortion pro-gun control Repub? Or John McCain the senile open-borders candidate? Perhaps Mitt Romney the flip-flopper?
Or will one of the lesser tier candidates get the nomination?

I'm voting for the real conservative in the race, Hillary.

No. At this point with so many candidates, I focus on choosing who I WON'T vote for. The "process of elimination" stage.

I will vote for a Democrat, I know that. Which one, I don't know. I am OK with any of the top tier ones. My preference is Hillary just to drive Republicans nuts.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. But if you're an adult and haven't already made up your mind about HRC you've been under a rock for oh about 16 years.

She started out high profile in Bill's first administration. Been in the public eye ever since.

I am pretty disgusted with the lot---but I have something to say to all candidates---rather than promise us how great you are going to be---Show us by getting to work and start sponsoring the legislation that will make the current situation better. The Iraq war may be a biggie---but there are plenty of other areas that need reform.

Even if you are not currently in an office where you can directly do it---show us that you can work with others who is in an an office so we can see your ideas in action. Then you have something to run on in 08. We really do need a uniter--show us that you are one---and not just a pie in the sky talks a good line promiser. Stand and deliver in hand beats a bird in the bush anyday.---with no Bush pun intended---just thank GOD GWB can't run again.

The Democrat.
Doesn't matter which one, just a Democrat.

Too bad I can't vote in the Primaries, I'll be old enough to vote for the election, but not old enough for the primaries (17 in 2007, 18 in 2008) but I did hear they were trying to lower the primary voting age.

So a large part of your young life you have had George W Bush as President.

I have sympathy for your position.

Yes, but how many really know her policy decisions and track record in NY? If anything, she's a moderate, and to practically foam at the mouth with 'anything but Hillary' just smacks of partisan knee-jerkery :p

I'd bet a bottle of Snapple that what he REALLY means is 'Anything but a DEMOCRAT'.

To be fair, most people here are blind Partisans, easily identifiable after a few posts. PJ, PH, Pabster, etc, are a few notable blind Righties, and of course we have scores of blind lefties.

I lean slightly left, probably due to the consistent high-profile abuses of the dominant office-holders of the past decade or so, but I'm more anti-partisan than pro-left or anti-right. I have a weird mix of personal policy ideals that doesn't mesh well with any identifiable party.

I am

Pro-gun ownership (with appropriate checks and balances)

Pro-abortion rights (in limited scope, Abortion should NOT be used for arbitrary birth control)

Pro-campaign finance/PAC-money reform (money should basically be banished from politics with SEVERE criminal repercussions for offenders)

Anti-welfare statism (we need to be helping able-bodied and minded people find decent work, not endlessly supporting them doing nothing)

Pro-corporate law reform (we need to punish corporate crime and tax evasion with much more severity, and the Justice department needs to crack down on modern robber barons/monopolies .. there is NO credible reason CEOs now earn 400x+ the average workers income, and for so many American jobs being outsourced to China/India/etc)

Pro-legalization of drugs that haven't been proven to be a significant credible threat to our safety and stability (Marijuana, MDMA, etc), If anything, the extreme expense in pursuing, prosecuting, and jailing these offenders is SEVERELY counterproductive to our entire society EXCEPT to the economic/power vampires who profit from the status quo.

Pro-military (Expansion of training/equipment/education programs and initiatives) Keep a large, high-morale domestic military presence, and use this force to accomplish major domestic projects as well as stand guard in the event that warfare calls them to arms.

Anti-redundant government agencies (we need to streamline, combine, and make accountable our various agencies. There is no reason to create a farce like the Homeland security agency when other agencies fail miserably in their assigned duties. Fix what is broken, don't create MORE agencies that suck up money and resources. Not to mention, to take a perfectly decent agency, FEMA, and force it under Homeland Security and it's idiot Crony director, was probably one of the dumbest political moves of the past 20 years).

Pro-border defense. Most of the major powers on earth have appropriately controlled borders, and I think we should as well. Combine this with immigration reform, maybe a fast-track program for individuals who speak english and have no criminal record.

etc. Find me a politician that agrees with the bulk of these initiatives, and I will be shocked :)
