I see some overly critical reviews but nothing real-world.

Anyone own this and want to do a review?

I am going to need to find a replacement for my excellent Sony G500 21" CRT soon as it's starting to bloom often. I need at least 1920x1200 resolution (no less than 1200 vertically) and I don't want to lose size either so at least a 23" screen is needed.

I am running a 768MB 8800GTX OC.

Thanks

a 28inch monitor that cheap reeks of low quality!

I think you will not be happy with it coming from that excellent CRT.

And it most likely has a TN panel!

TN panel tech has been refined to perfection by now. It's more likely that this is a new Chinese manufacturer startup willing to take a lower profit while they establish brand recognition. I'd say go for it-- if my Soyo 24" breaks I'll probably take the money (that I paid for the warranty) and go get one of these-- even though my Soyo is a P-MVA or M-PVA or whatever. My friend's TN looks fine to me.

I picked up Altec Lansing ADA885THX's when they came out for $40.

Looking for someone with experience.

TN panels still have poor viewing angles. Aside from that, most I've seen are OK. I wouldn't go so far as to call the tech 'perfected' though.

The screen the OP is referring to is apparently made by Hanns-G. There are a some mixed reviews for it on amazon.com:

i have seen the reviews, looking for someone that tested it here. You are bound to see bad reviews more than good ones out there.

I had a customer who used this and I'll say I would not recommend this unless you don't care about quality.

I meant 'mixed' as in some good, some bad. It seems to me that this screen is going to be somewhat of a risk purchase either way. The reviews are sort of all over the place, which either means the people writing the good reviews have low standards or that the performance of the monitor is inconsistent from one to next (or both).

That being said, if you decide to get one you really ought to do an in depth amateur review with pics and an overview of your impressions. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it.

I tell ya Have a couple of 30 there nice . But To big . So I tried a westinghouseL2610nw. I read a few reviews not real good . But at$400 was reasoniable price . Its not as good of panels supposedly as the 30s but I like it better . Size is perfect .I use as webber at 1280x1024 scales perfect. HD is brillant now my webber isn't gamer but very fast response no ghosting. But I need to check on the Nehalem to say its good for gaming . But its the best $400 I have ever spent on PC . THAT surprised me .I was exspecting less. Sure the other panels are great. But these Tn are not bad.
