Anyone able to explain how to get two monitors (vga+s-video) working on this motherboard?

The board is an msi rs480 -

I go to the desktop, right click, select properties, settings tab, then I right click on the number 2 monitor, select attach, then apply.

The monitor blinks, comes back on, but shows it not being attached. What am I doing wrong?

Okay, did you install the Catalyst drivers for the X200 chipset's video, and did you try using the options in the Advanced submenu under one of the ATI tabs (Display, iirc?) There may also be a box for "Force TV Detect". I haven't used an ATI card in a bit, so I'm a shade rusty.

Yes, I have catalyst drivers (5.2)
Can't find any advanced options to enable both. I have force tv detect checked under troubleshooting.

Its very odd as I can switch between the two, but can't just attach it. Thats how it worked on my old Compaq Presario laptop.

OK, I checked mine, and I can't enable both at the same time either. Using surround view, I can't get 2 concurrent displays out of Xpress 200 either. With the X800 XL installed, everything but 2 concurrent analog displays from Xpress 200 chip works......single RAMDAC maybe?? Clone mode should work still?, so maybe just a driver issue (I hope).

Nice catch
