Who would fall for this?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEXICO CITY: "Papa! Papa! Papa!" cried the voice on Rodolfo Melchor's cell phone. Then: "Honey, it's me, I've been kidnapped!"

The office machine repairman, on a break at work, dialed police and sprinted home, finding after the most harrowing 30 minutes of his life that his family was just fine.

Melchor had avoided falling victim to a "virtual kidnapping," a scheme aimed at quickly extracting ransom without an actual abduction. The weapon used is not a gun or a knife, but a telephone.

"My head was spinning," said the 38-year-old Melchor. "My son and my wife had never called me crying like that. And I didn't recognize the difference in the woman's voice from that of my wife because I was in shock."

Explain to me how he is lazy again? I just don't get it. What would be the correct White Man's response to this situation that would differ from this guy's reaction because he is Mexican?

Really? Really? Do you really need it spelled out for you? I'm not referring to the victim here. I'm referring to the faux kidnappers.

Lame Stereotype: Mexicans are lazy (Never mind the fact that they'll pick lettuce for 23 cents a day)

Lame Lazy Mexican Joke....
Juan: Hey, let's kidnap this rich guy's family and hold them for ransom.
Pablo: Aye carumba!... so much work... have to get up and go to his house... take his family... hold them... feed them... etc... Aye!
Juan: Si... Si. I see.
Pablo: Let's just make the call and see if he'll pay before checking on his family... maybe we'll get lucky...
Juan: Si!

I can't believe I even responded to this :disgust:

Why would it be stupid ? It seems to of worked for them in the past according to the article. This article just gives an example where it failed. Seems they are "working smarter" not "harder" when it comes to crime.

Then again I feel that anyone who goes out of their way to commit any kind of fraud is plain lazy period IMHO. I guess only White criminals are the hard working smart ones right ?

This works on people who get upset and worried over their loved one potentially being kidnapped. A woman calls up that sort of sounds like your loved one and she is crying and screaming. The phone is yanked away and you hear sounds of her being beaten and then the "kidnapper" says that you have 2 hours to deliver a lot of cash or she dies.

They also tells you that you are being watched and that if you don't go directly to the bank or if you go to the police she'll die. What will you do? All the while you hear what you think is your wife in the background being beaten. By now you are put in a extreme, and stressful emotional state.

I am thinking this could work on a lot of people if done correctly. I don't think it has to do with intelligence at all. It has to do with how you would react to such a call and how emotional and stressed out you would get over hearing a woman that sort of sounds like your wife on the phone who sounds like she is being beaten and kidnapper demanding money fast or else.

Why don't you try dealing with your own problems first - electing leaders who do what you want, and the hypocritical Americans who want the cheap goods whle whining?

No surprise though that you come down on yet another issue not as a human being but as a 'screw anyone but Americans' attitude.

Wow man, you need a drink or something. Did you even read his post? He wasn't stereotyping Mexicans as lazy, he was just talking about the stereotype that Mexicans are lazy. I'll even put it in bold for you...

Looks to me like he is calling it a "Lame Stereotype" and saying that its a ridiculous stereotype when you look at how hard most of them work for so little money.

This forum is completely devoid of humor. It's a black hole. Only in P&N would someone take an obviously flippant remark, posted with a wink and a smile no less, and try to turn it into a debate.

Least it's not a s*** where I eat policy. The "third world" grows more in population than we could ever possibly take in. Somewhere you MUST draw the line and stop over a million people from entering this country every year. Those who support such insane population growth has a "screw America" attitude.

Preservation of ones country should be a high priory for every human being. We do have kids to leave it to.
