Hey guys I have to say I hate rally games but I got a super deal on ebay for "DIRT" for only 20 bucks so I grabbed it thinking what the hell I'll give it a try.
I thought at first it was going to suck balls as when I tried to play it with full settings it was like a damn flip book.
Plus the grafics were all edgy like card board cut outs.
Well after overclocking my cpu to 3.2Ghz and pumping up my GPU a few Mhz wow what a difference.
I had to drop the AA and Dynamic shadows down to 2 but kept everthing else at highest settings and now its nice and smoth and very very nice looking.
I cant seem to stop playing this game now it is so addicting.
I keep crashing into things from looking at all the reflections on the cars and looking at the backgrounds just amazes me as they look so real.
I cant get over at how overclocking a little bit made that much of a difference?
I just got a MSI 8800gts 640mb but have yet to install it.
Will there be a big change going from a 7950 512MB to a 8800gts 640MB?
Anyways back to my point are there any othere dx10 games or any other games that have this nice of grafics that is actually fun to play and has good controlls?
Game I have a are prey, nfs carbon and most wanted,doom3,cod2,quake4,oblivion,and Vegas.
Thanks guys oh and my specs are in my sig...

Wait for the new Need for Speed: Pro Street, should be looking good for a racing game. For more eye candy, Crysis, BioShock, UT3, CoD4, GRAW2 etc etc etc :p

Bioschock, next month, crysis month after that, UT3 q4 2007. Graw 2 should be coming out this or next week. Oh, btw you didn't mention owning stalker, get that if you want good graphics and some nice FPS action too.

Are you looking for a justification for buying a DX10 card? Beyond the ones mentioned already, you can easily expect most of the big production games that come out from here on to be DX10 compatible.

RaptureMe, I imagine an 8800 series card would remove the flipbooking problem. That game requires HEAVY horsepower, but it ran smoothly on my system with everything max @1920x1200.

Yes I have already beat Half-Life 2 and I have played though S.t.a.l.k.e.r. but did not like it at all.
I do have Lost planet which is pretty cool and I am about half way through that game.
See the problem is I go through games so fast because soon as I get them home from the store I play them non stop 24-7 till I beat it.
So soon as I get about half way through a game or 2 I start loooking for something new.
Right now I am playing Transformers but I am stuck on the part where megatron unfreezes and you have to run around this spark/cube thingy.
He keeps killing me and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to pass this part.
I am not into cheating with codes,I think that takes out all the fun of games.
Well anyways soon as I beat this game I will need another to replace it.
I am also playing "Dirt" and Lost planet but I am about alittle more then half way through those..
Yeah I want to get Bioshock so maybe that will be my next game.

Heh, theres no way for the gaming industry to release games fast enough to keep you busy/satisfied if you play those games 24/7 the second they come out :p Even if EA's churns out sequel after sequel they couldn't keep up :p Slow your pace, try enjoying the games some more, or play them at harder difficulty :p
