it is disabled. ^_^

Not all of the way then. Disable the controller in the bios or thru the device manager.

You could just hide drive from my Computer. I believe Power Toys from MS can do it.

if you don't want the computer to check it every time when you boot up, just change the boot order so that it reads the HD first.

Ok, i had to disable it in the device manager. No matter what i done, it would still be there, lol. And for the record, i have no floppy drive in this system, i didn't see a need. Until recently, i need to flash my bios now, but...alas i cannot. I am experimenting w/ flashing w/ a USB thumb drive, but no luck just yet. Any of you had success w/ this??

Flashing the BIOS is the only reason I still include i floppy drive in most PC's I build ... I've never tried the USB flash drive method myself and I don't trust flashing from within Windows.

Most newer Asus motherboards offer a utility called easy-flash built into the BIOS itself which allows you to flash without booting into DOS mode & it supports loading the BIOS files from CD, flash drive or from a file on the HD itself, again however I've only tried it using a floppy.

Oh for heavens sake, rip the thing open and connect a 3.5" drive, flash the BIOS and then take it out again if the sight of floppy drive offends you. It'll take all of 10 minutes.
You don't even need to put the drive in the slot, just leave it sitting in the table/floor/whatever.

Those drives are a dime a dozen, I see them laying on the side of the road in discard machines.

Why make life hard for yourself?

You'll need to find a way to get to the drive in DOS which is never fun. You're probably better off using a CD.

Not everyone owns a floppy drive any more. Of the 5 machines I have here only 2 have them and I'm not going to take it out of one of them just to flash my BIOS.

right click my computer > Manage> Disk Management

You can't do anything with floppy drives in there. At least I don't think so, I don't have an XP machine to verify that but I know it won't work in Win2K or Vista32.
