blue shirt, khakis, yellow name tag should do it. Sell them an extended warranty and you'll get the job.

Khaki pants and a nice shirt worked for me when I worked there. Be prepared for questions like "Why do you want to work here? How do you think you will improve on Best Buy? If an angry customer walks up to you and shoves a dildo in your eye, what would you do?"

For all those qusetions...don't be honost, just tell them what they want to hear.

This is BestBuy, all they want to know is that you'll push their service plans on your grandmother if she comes in the store.

Thats easy...think of what they want to hear and say it.

"I will improve on best buy by adding my unique experiences and knowledge to the best buy team. The customer deserves to know about the outstanding quality and service Best buy offers, such as our PRPs and PSPs. (Product replacement plans and Product Service plans, which are not warrenties according to BB.) I think I can add to the customers positive experience in this store and make it so they want to come back."

Check it out. One guy there said that he wasn't hired becuase he knew too much about computers and the interviewer said that he'd cost them too much money by selling people what they needed instead of what he could sell them.

Like futuristicmonkey was saying. Don?t be to smart. Tell them extended warranties are a GOOD thing and anybody that does not buy them is taking a risk and probable an idiot. Be prepared to sell your soul to KEEP the job if you get it. Etc?

Sorry to sound harsh, but that is how it works at 99% of bestbuys.

Just tell them in the interview that you are deceitful and dishonest by nature and screwing around with consumers gives you a boner.

I work there right now, it's a really easy interview. If you aren't a dick and answer questions like a normal person you should do good. Also, people who steal should be FIRED, never answer anything that says they should just be reprimanded or anything. They should be fired for stealing, that goes for every company.

Also, I feel a lot of BB hate everywhere on the internet. I love the place where I work, the people and we aren't a store that lies, we do push PSPs, accessories and stuff but hey that's business. I work in a top ranked store and i seriously wonder if its just cause all the things people say is true about all the other BBs.

Edit: oh yeah, Khakis and a button up t-shirt, like most interviews :)

fired for stealing is good thing

here are some steps, i have interviewed several people at BB for my manager and here is what they will look and I: (Or at my store which was pretty formal)

1)dressed full sleeve shirt
2) answer questions with details, no short answers
3) dont lean forward/shake leg in interview that shows fear, cowardness, CHEAP
4)be honest and give your opinion, have self-esteem
5) always have a WIDE smile ! my managers always look for that, dont want someone who is serious looking or a serial killer look;)
6) have eye contact, laugh with them, show em whos the boss- that tells me that you are confident which i alwys look for in a person
7) if they ask you if u have any questions, ASK Them what u have in mind, dont say nothing (salary, benefits, training etc)
8) have a resume

Every store is different. I've heard both horror and success stories from all over. It depends mostly on the attitude of your management staff. As for what to say in the interview, if you dont know how to answer questions, I dont recommmend that you make something up or use other peoples responses. It will be quite obvious after the fact that you didnt know WTF you were talking about and will probably end up in you having to find another job. If you cant answer the questions on your own, you shouldnt be doing the job.

Like most interviews? Maybe for Best Buy. Most interviewers give extra points for wearing a tie or something. :) Everything helps.

In Best Buys around here, it seems like there are too many employees. I'll be walking through the store gaping at the stuff they have and every 3 minutes a new person will walk up to me and ask, "can I help you with anything?" Hehe.
