Anybody with Asus A7V and Asus v7100 stability problems (Constant Lockups in Games and Windows) ??

Had this for a while and made me crazy. To fix change the system speed to Normal instead of optimal, this will limit AGP to x2. I also disabled ACPI. Do not know if both are needed to fix the problem but ACPI is more trouble than its worth anyway.

If you install the latest 4in1's I don't see how the problems could continue, since VIA has adressed most incompatability by now I would think..

Windows ME or 98? I'm having lockups like there's no tomorrow in both windows and games.

ME sucks plain and simple. A few people I know bought retail systems with ME on them. Some of their games wouldnt even run right. They switched to 98 and everything was fine. But make sure you have the latest VIA driver and try Detenator 6.34 They seem to be the most stable. You can get them at zoiah.m3dzone.com.

Believe me I tried everything. Latest Drivers, bio tweaking, removed all other components, everything I could think of. The only thing that worked was the fix I mentioned above. The problem is not MS OS specific. Same thing happend in Windows 98, ME and 2000. Since then my whole system has been solid as a rock. (Latest 4-1 does not fix the problem)
