I have been looking into getting one of these OEM cards from www.ocie.com, and wanted to hear some feedback about them. The price is great ($115 with a cooling fan on the HS), but I have heard bad stuff about OEM MX cards.

For anyone out there who has them, I have these questions:

1) Does it overclock well? (this is the reason for getting the card with the cooling fan)

2) Are you satisfied with it?

The reason for all of this, is I have heard that some of the OEM cards have higher 7ns memory and the card is actually underclocked to around 143mhz. Is this true with these cards?

Let me know what you think about them . . .

I just installed my card from ocie.com last night.

If you can help me figure out what the memory speed is set to I'd be glad to tell you! I bought the OEM with fan, with TVoutputs.

I don't know what utility to get to try and overclock it though.

Wez, I just installed PowerStripGX and it tells me the following:

Memory Speed: 166
Engine Speed: 175

I just bumped both up to 195 and am running 3DMark2000 on it again. will see how stable it runs and how hot/cold... will let you know.

[Running in Win2000]

My 3DMark2000 scores went from

@166/175 = 3517
@195/195 = 3697

only made for a 5% increase.

This is also with the TBird only clocked at 700, once I get it overclocked the scores may change more significantly with overclocking.

I just got an Inno3d (from Ocie) yesterday. I'll be putting the system together tomorrow, so I'll let you know.

Btw, the transaction went well with Ocie... However, the packaging was abhorrent. The card is in an OEM box, with no packing material inside the box, and no seal on the outside of the box. The box was then put in a plastic bag and shipped. Half the box had been crushed, but the card looks ok.

Although, I wouldn't be too surprised if the card was inop.

Strange, the Inno3D card I got from OCIE.com was packaged really well.

You must have had yours packed by a guy who was in a rush to get home.

btw - I've got mine running now at 200/200 after I found the CoolBits tweak for Win2000. So far so good.

Well, I'm glad to hear that my packaging was maybe a fluke. Everything else went well, they have good prices and don't overcharge for shipping. I'll give them another shot, when the opportunity arises.

I used the CoolBits registry modification which lets you overclock in your display properties.

There is a CoolBits for both Win9x and Win2000. Worked fine on my Win2000 system.

Anyone have probs with the latest Detonator drivers and this card?
On reboot- I get nothing. The ones included on the CD that came with the card work fine.

TIA

I'm using the 6.31 drivers no problem...

Hey WingznutPEZ, sorry I don't have a link, just use your favorite search engine and look for +coolbits +overclock and it'll come up.

Interesting... I'm thinking of this card. How good is TV-out? any good for DVD playback on TV? do you need the separate drivers for TV features, or it all comes with detonator?
