Anybody watching Final Fantasy on Sci-fi?

I've seen it before but there's nothing else on so I'm watching it. The animation's pretty good but they've still got a ways to go before it looks realistic.

I remember when the movie came out how all the critics were raving about the animation and cg effects and how lifelike they were. I look at the movie now and to me the animation looks no better that most games out today, specifically Silent Hill 3. The animation in that game's cut scenes is just as good as the Final Fantasy movie. Funny how a few years makes the "latest and greatest" seem old hat.

Nothing else on? Let's see... Here in the Bay Area:

7pm: Cube2: Hypercube
8pm: Rain Man, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Rambo, Lethal Weapon 3, 48 HRS, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Predator, Dances With Wolves, No Way Out, The Net
9pm: Final Fantasy, To Kill a Mockingbird
10:30pm: Total Recall

And that's all on the free channels. I'd say it's a pretty good night for tv.

yea, they didn't have the tech to model true anatomy, muscles etc.. kinda faked it out through animation. works in pixar type films... not if ur trying to do photo real. turned out just creepy, course it woulda been ok if the story wasn't simply horrible. shoulda had an american director.
