i have a leadtek tv tuner card...works great most of the time but has these damn annoying lines show up when the signal isn't that great...would like to find something better just cause use comp as TV prettymuch in bedroom

I also have a Leadtek Winfast 2000XP. So far it has served me well in terms of a TV tuner as well as a capture card. I have captured many older home movies off 8mm camcorder tapes without any problems, and the clarity of cable tv is excellent. Can't go wrong with this one IMO.

thats the drawback of using a high grade display for a low grade input. it will look crummy reguardless :\

is the leadtek card available at any B and M stores?

I don't know if it matters to any of you, but if you ever intend to display the tv tunner output on a second monitor or an S-Video output,for whatever reason, do your homework. Most capture cards don't support it due to their method of rendering on the graphics card. Most will only work on the primary display with hardware acceleration.

I have heard a lot of people recommend the Leadtek Winfast TV Tuner card as a good budget card. I recently purchased my father a Hauppague PVR250, and it is excellent. The quality is very high, the setup went extremely smooth, and the video capture features are supposed to be excellent (We haven't tested this item first hand).

My brother has a pretty nice ASUS card he got off of ebay. Works pretty wel to with the Directv hook up

I use the Leadtek 2000XP Deluxe. Until I get a second dish for the living room, I have temporarily run a coax cable from the bedroom satellite receiver to my Leadtek in the living room (for the games on ESPN).
I have no problems displaying the satellite feed on my living room TV thru my 9600Pro and an S-Video cable. And even over 75 feet of coax, into the tuner, out thru the videocard, across 20 feet of S-Video, into the vcr, and then finally displayed on the tv, it looks just as good as it does in the bedroom right out of the receiver. At least, I can't tell the difference.
