At least I think it was Prime Time, I really wasn't paying much attention. Anyway, whatever show it was had a segment tattooing Best Buy for being too aggressive in selling their extended warranty. That's fine, it's a nasty practice at many of the big stores.

But, they had some dipwad lawyer on there who was whining because the warranty didn't cover the fact that his ancient POS Acer puked when he tried to upgrade to Win98SE. Idiot.

My ancient POS Acer took Win98SE no problem. It must have been Best Buy gremlins that f'ed up his computer. He should sue.

Yipee /jk, we have a Best Buy opening here in a couple of weeks. Just what we need, Circus City, ABC Worehouse and Worst Buy all in a 3 block radius with Sears right in the middle.

I don't know about best Buy around the rest of the country Fathom4, but we have the same stores here that you mentioned (except ABC whatever) and Best Buy is the nicest by far. Plenty of good deals, easy to return stuff, lots of stock and the salesmen only ask once about selling you the warranty or $30.00 printer cables :)

I've gotten quite a few good deals on open box items, which can still be returned if you wish. Suppose you tell me what retail store you prefer to Best Buy.

I wish John Stossel would have been there to tell that lawyer, "GIVE ME A BREAK!"

Sorry Ornery I really need to remember to clarify. As far as computers and perif's they stink around here.

However, I will agree that for basic consumer electronics like TV's and the like, ABC Warehouse, Best Buy and Circuit City do a good job. And your right Best Buy is by far the best of the three.

Thanks.
