Anybody using Time Warners DVR?

I am looking for some info on this unit and service. I soon plan to move into an apartment and if possible I would like to get DirecTV, but if that is not possible I will have to either go with time warners DVR or get a Tivo or replay. Does the time warner DVR use the tivo program guide, or is it time warners own? DOes it have things like season pass and the other Tivo goodies? How big is the hard drive? Wow I think I just read that it can record 2 shows at once. That is one of the main reasons I want the DirecTV Tivo, that and the quality, so is that true? How exactly does this work, as it appears there is only one tuner on the equipment(Scientific Atlanta 8000)? Am I understanding the time warner site correctlly, are you charged 5.95/ month for the teriminal and 6.95/month for the service? And how many hours of programming will the unit hold? The site says 27-43 hours depending on if its analog or digital.

The TW unit uses its own guide system. I honestly don't know the exact size of the hard drive but it is pretty big. I believe it can record up to 10 hours of video? I could be wrong but I believe that is what the guy told me. And yes, it is a Scientific Atlanta box.

i had time warner DVR and it was awesome. i hated giving it up 🙁. i know you can record two shows at the same time (and watch a third.) i believe the unit i had came w/ a 60gig HD. i'm not sure how it compares to DirectTV tivo, but program guide that time warner uses is light years above what comcast offers. i highly recommend TWC DVR.
