Ok, been thinking it might be a good idea to save some money so I'm looking into switching.
Currently, I use Cox Cable (4M/s for $40/month) and SBC Local and long distance ($35/month) with only 200 minutes, but not a big deal since don't really call long distance like at all). While I haven't had a problem with either one, I figure it wouldn't hurt to save $20 a month either. Our cable is really only about 3m/s due to there being a lot of other cable users in the area and a few times lately it has gotten pretty low for a little while.
If I switch to SBC Yahoo DSL and get the $30/month plan (3M/s) and then say Vonage (which is what $25/month or so?), would it be much different?
Also, SBC does not offer a bundle deal when getting both DSL and phone service from them, at least they say they don't whenever both I and my mom (who might be getting it herself) have contacted them, so thats not really a consideration.
I figure if nothing else, I could use the extra money to get a decent digital cable package to use with my new HDTV (I know most of it isn't hi-def, but oh well, more channels).
So, my question is: is there anybody using this combo and how has it worked for you? I'll take any opinions about each one individually and would definitely be open to other suggestions as well. Is there a better VoIP service?
Oh, and on a random sidenote, when I took the weight out of my MX510 mouse, I also happened to lose a spring, which incidentally turned it into a smooth scrolling mouse.
