I know Ultra power supplies have had some problems in the past and devolped a bad reputation among some users but it seems like the ultra second generation psu's have been getting good reviews they have a 3 year warranty upgradeable to lifetime warranty by registering on the website.I really like the way the flex cabling is on these psu's ,dual rails, no active pfc though im thinking bout getting a 600 watter for my next build anybody using the 500 watt or 600 watt second generation how has it been so far?Talking bout the x2 or the new x- finity

I don't know about the new dual rails, but i have an "old" 500w ultra x-connect and it works well enough for my x2 system. No problems whatsoever.

Why would anyone reward any company that foisted something like the original X-Connect onto an unsuspecting marketplace with their continued patronage? Go and give a company that is worthy of some respect your business.

No product has a 0% defect rate, thats a given, but more quality oriented companies like antec, OCZ, Seasonic will have less problems in general so you also pay for ease of mind as well performance. Its always suspicious when a 120 dollar power supply goes on sale for 20 bucks. The new revisions are supposed to be a lot better, but just ask your self if you are comfortable buying a Powmax power supply. If you are, then go for it.

oh really? my antec neo power 480 +3.3v rail is down to 2.48v according to smart guardian and thermal probe. While my Ultra X-Connect has zero problems and zero flucuation power demand.

I own a X-Connect, I love it, Ultra gets a bad rap, but it's partially their own fault.

Ultra DOES NOT made bad psu's, but from what I hear they don't have the best quality control. I know people who run top of the line SLI rigs with Ultra PSU's with zero problems. you couldn't do that with a bad psu brand. And it's been beaten to death already, but Powmax does not make Ultra PSU's. This is false information probably start by somebody who dislikes Ultra PSU's

and for the record, according to people on here, ANY positive review of any Ultra PSU, is only because the reviewer has no clue how to properly test a PSU. :) it's a win/win situation for the Ultra haters.

I'm going to get an X2 off the new modular cables, I've NEVER seen a ATX cable that thin before. The modular cables on the original was what attracted me to it. These new Flex Force cables look amazing.
