Anybody using monitor extensions?

Hi,

I need to put my computer in the next room and run monitor extensions into this room for my 2 Samsung 955DF 19" monitors which run on a Radeon VE card. About 16'. I've heard some folks say that the text screwed up when they tried it so had to abandon the idea.

Anybody doing all right with them? Any tips? Gotta get all the noise out of this room, recording in here.

Thanks.

I've had issues with monitor extentions in the past with my 19" LG StudioWorks (ghosting effects, unclear text and what not). My solution was spending a bundle on really nice extentions from Belkin (I only got a 6' cable, but they sell 15', 50', 100' lengths).

There are other vendors, but aim for this type, with the 3 video wires individually shielded co-ax, and the twisted shielded signal wires. I've had no further problems with mine, good luck too, that 15' link above is $75 MSRP from Belkin 🙂

My roomate does this for audio work. His boxes are in a closet in the hall. You wont have problems as long as you use high quality sheilded cables.
