I've been trying to use FADspy, build 11. When it works, it's great! Really cool proggie, lots of info 🙂

Problem is, getting it to run properly!!! On my AXP/Win98SE box, it crashes when I add the path to my FaD folder. On my dual P3/Win2kPro box, it would only work for itself. On my A64/XP64 box, I eventually got it working for all 3 computers....until I rebooted the dual P3 machine, then it disappeared. Never worked again on the dual P3 box either, but I could still see the AXP box from the A64 box. Today I added an Athlon 1300 box, I can't get FADspy to work at all on it :| And to top it off, it now crashes on my A64 box! So I'm back to square one. I know it's beta software, but since I got it working once (for 3 comps, anyways), it seems like it's something about my hardware or network and not FADspy.

Anyone got any ideas for me? I like the program, but I'm frankly baffled here!

Oh dang.. I thought maybe I was the only one who would have to endure such agony. 🙁

Sorry, no answers for you from me -- I gave up and chose  in the end. 😕

Maybe it doesn't like older OS's? Try uninstalling completely, then redownloading and reinstall. Sorry, that's all I can think of. It's working flawlessly on my A64/WinXP monitoring three other boxes.

The neat thing you will find about FAD is if you use their forum to ask a question..... The man that wrote fad spy will answer you

JT- I didn't mention that I already posted my questions there 😱 Blackbird suggested manually editing the path.tsc file, which I did, but it didn't help 🙁

I take it you're using FADspy without issue?

This is probably a stupid question, but...

Is there a space or other special character in the path to FaD? Can you move FaD to a simpler path?

I should mention I never heard of FADspy until now. :Q

I have it running and watching 18 nodes without any problems, but you need to make sure that the clocks are not off, make sure they all have the same time or very close. I have it installed in the folder that is my FAD queue and watch it across my network on my main computer. I then had to add a node path for a machine that would not connect to my main queue.

This is a great program and gives you alot of info.

I've gone through the whole process on all my machines again, I can't even get it to work for the machine it's on, let alone others on the network 😕

I give up.
