I've downloaded this reg. tweak, but only 2 tweaks in zip file are one for win9* and the other labeled for WinNT/2000.

I'm using coolbits on my 98 box, but was just wondering should I use the WinNT/2000 for the XP box? I don't want to screw up anything. I probably could just manually enter the tweak for the XP OS right?

I didn't know that there was 2 different ones out there..I've been using the same old one since I got it for Win98. It's like a 1k file. Works fine for me.:)

Yeah, I don't know - I've seen it first just as a plain reg. tweak that you can type in yourself, don't remember if it was OS specific or not. I then found some site with the coolbits tweak available to download, I did and now there are two different tweaks?

Hmmmm?

I've been using the "2000/NT" version with every driver set and WinXP, just "merge" it into the reg.

i've always entered it manually..and when i update drivers, it's always stayed in the registry...enter it manually - it's worked w/ all the latest drivers i've used...i'm currently using the latest 29.xx ones (can't remmeber last two digits, don't care to look either).

open regedit (under the run box), and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
NVIDIA Corporation
Global
NVTweak
dword: Coolbits=3

if once u navigate to Global and there's no NVTweak key, just add it in Global (right click, new, key)...then in NVTweak (that u just made), add the dword (rich click, new, dword value), enter Coolbits...then double click on it and change its value to 3
