Anybody use ALLDATA here?

I've got ALLDATA at my school and I try using it but everytime I try to use it, it seems to not be very useful at all. For example I tried removing a transmission from a truck I was working on and I tried using ALL DATA but it was of little help and ended up doing it with the help of the shop teacher.. Anybody have experience with this software?

I have worked at several shops who subscribed to ALLDATA, the timing belt replacement and other specs they give is invaluable.

However most of the time the big job directions only complicate things and are not really the best way to go about them. Many things in the instructions rely on dealer only (proprietary) tools that cost alot of money and can easily be circumvented with some knowledge of how things work.

The best database you will ever find for automotive is the IATN chatroom, at IATN.com it is well worth the 40$ per quarter and much cheaper than the couple grand per annum for alldata.

Nah....I bought the factory servive manuals, factory parts guides, haynes and chilton manuals, and use carfiche.com if I need to cross reference another model.
