Anybody use ACT!?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum... We just got a new salesman in and he has a database of contacts in ACT! and Outlook with Business Contact Manager won't convert it without ACT! installed... All the shareware I can find REQUIRES ACT! to be installed... Any clues?
 
I take it you can't install ACT! on a temporary basis? I know a consultant that will convert it for you.
