Anybody try truffle cheese?

I never tried it but i hear it on cooking shows and how it makes everything taste better

That truffle gouda, if it's the same one I had from Dean & Deluca, is freaking amazing. The one I buy is local I think, but yeah, a good truffle cheese is amazing!

So I was able to find some at trader joe's for $6 (still a ridiculously small piece). But the unmistakeable aroma was there as soon as you brake open the wrapper. I just sliced it onto a piece of baguette and toasted it a little. It was delicious. Now I need to buy some truffle oil to put in some mac and cheese

Beware.

These cheeses use the cheap tasteless Chinese truffle instead of the tasty and expensive French/Italian truffle. If you're eating a Chinese truffle and think it's tasty, you're suffering from the placebo effect.

I love triple cream cheeses so much and they cost enough themselves, that I don't want to waste my cheese money of something that might be better. I'm a cheese conservative.
