anybody tried the TT crystal orb on the videocard?

It's definately adaquate... but loud, at least compared to my Radeon8500 fan.

oh no i'm trying to build a silent pc and if it's loud like you say it is that is not good baby girl going to get mad again.i also use to own the 8500 and i remember it not being that loud but felt like a perfect setting for videocard.also does it make any squeak sound from the fan if you remember? and is there any chance that you might have gotten a bad orb?

what brand ti200? My visiontek ti200 fan died on me. I sent them an email and they sent me a new heatsink and fan for it. pretty sweet for free.

No, I don't remember any squeaking sound. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a bad fan, it's just the normal noise of a small fan running at high RPM. I might be remembering wrong, but I'd compare the noise level to an ordinary 80mm case fan. However, it's more high pitched so more easily heard.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, try that.

damn i should have thought of that before🙁 i'm actually going to try to do it anyways.the card is a gainward gf3 ti200 GS.pretty sweet card i get like 10500k on 3dmark2k1 🙂 to bad i already order the orb already anyways.what's the warranty on these cards anyways since i got it on the for trade forum?

Will the orb fit?
My Inno3d Ti200 has a dying fan, too, but 55mm HSFs don't fit because of the RAM sinks.

Edit: oiling the sleeve bearings often helps to revive fans.

As someone already said, email Gainward and they will probably send you a new hs/fan. I think the warrantee is 3 years for the Gainwards. I have the Ti4200 Gold Sam and the Vantec Iceberq 4 Pro HSF is a good replacement for the stock unit. Vantec also makes the Iceberg 4 (not Pro) which fits the Ti200 cards. Both have solid copper heatsinks.

doesn't matter where you got it.

all I stated in my email to visiontek was what card it was, the fan was dying, requested a new heatsink and fan for it, and provided my shipping address. it took a while (about 2 weeks) to get a reply, but they apologized for the delay and stated one had shipped to my address.

oh yah got my orb today and saw some nice overclock that i've never could reach with ti200.before with regular hsf i got 240/500 with no artifact.now i can get 245/540 no artifact.here's my new 3dmark2k1 score with that setting 10686

result i'm very happy that i got this and it's no louder then the original one
