Anybody tried Gnome 2 ?

I've been looking for reviews but can't find any. KDE 3 was a big improvement over KDE 2.x, and I was wondering if Gonme 2 was any better than 1.x and in what ways.

I tried it very briefly.

Felt and looked pretty much the same as Gnome 1.4, and I quickly switched back to KDE3.

But, as I said, it was a VERY quick test, and it may very well be improved in loads of ways I wouldn't notice.

Tried Gnome2 when I checked out the latest RedHat and I liked what I saw, overall, but went back to Blackbox. Linux is reminding me of the fun I had in the DOS days. Text for most everything I need (but with more than one session), and GUI when I need it. Blackbox is quite minimal, make sure to get bbconf and bbkeys, very useful addons.

I couldn't agree more with that.....

Hmm...Gnome 2...I tried it. It doesn't seem extremly polished to me, although that could have been just the way I installed it. I'll give it a little while before I try it again.
