Anybody still play Threewave CTF Q1?

After playing ut2k4 ctf it is obviously inferior to to threewave CTF for Quake 1. The grappling hook is where it's at! Anybody know of some active servers for it?

Dude... Threewave was and is the best online mod EVAR...

Used to play it religiously on Mplayer with friends in a clan back in highschool... No FPS game has ever come close, besides maybe counterstrike.

If it was still around and stuff I would still be addicted...

Last I checked there will still several servers around, unfortunately no one was playing on them. Other than the crazy "runes are everywhere" mod, that is.

is there a Q3 mod with the same gameplay that is around and people still play?

http://www.planetquake.com/cctf/ is one for Q3 but that site's last update was in 2002.

Never heard of it, but it's sh*t compared to CS before it went to hell, and the original iteration of Team Fortress (for its time).

you've never heard of 3wave ctf? If you haven't then how can you even compare it to CS?

Thats a great mod but I dunno if there are still servers out there.
I play q2 ctf and there are like 2 servers left.

Hah, I was going to ask the same question. You can't even compare it to CS because the mods are two entirely different concepts. The original TF was/is rather awesome, though.

Dood count me in too I played the hell out of Q2 3wave CTF back in the day. Skipped my 2nd day of college to play it I think our clan got to #5 on the OGL once. Our problem was, we never attracted the "good free agents" like other clans did - we were a tight knit bunch who grew up and honed our Q2 CTF skills together as one clan. Never able to come close to getting guys like Voyeur, and the rest of those guys

I loved playing Q3Ademo on servers with the grappling hook (I played mostly Longest Yard, I think). Free pwnage!

god i used to play nothing but q1 ctf3/4 with my friends/clan every night, was so damn fun. those were the days.
