You need lotsa ram. My 1800+ @ 1900+ and 512 MB DDR + GF2 GTS @ 1600x1200 go really fast for small cities, but once I get larger ones I get a lot of swapping when I move the map around.

512 MB of RAM isn't enough? That's insane...so those guys that are out buying 1GB will actually see some performance increase.

My computer gets totally thrashed by this game.... My city, at like population 100,000, is so insanely slow i can hardly play it... I guess that's a good excuse to buy some more RAM 🙂

I haven't gotten a city up to 100 000 yet... I think my largest is 30 000, and I've got 8 or 9 of them all interconnected in the region. One is an industrial hole that sells power, buys garbage, and sells water to all the others. It's making $5000 a month and has well over $1 million 🙂

Here what I found.... 😉

SimCity4 trailer - 7.58mB *zip >>> 8 mB *.mov file. 70 seconds.
Another w/ tornado - 1.58 mB, 57 seconds.

I'll look around for better resolution. Have the game installed in one of my systems but have not tried it yet.

as for radeon user, fx are off and performance sucks because of known bug. look at readme
