I'd stick with the Plextor. What is up with the slow ass 24X CD-R burning speed on the Pioneer 107? Plextor only does 4X on DVD-R (hopefully they'll come out with a firmware that bumps it up to 8X DVD-R) but it burns CD-R at 40X. I don't know about you, but when I get my DVD burner, I'm still gonna be burning CDs more often then DVDs. And if I want to burn DVDs fast, I'll just get DVD+Rs. I'm getting a Plextor, no doubt about it.Originally posted by: RoninCS

Which Plextor do you have? I have the PX708a, and I sure can't.
Well I have a Pioneer 120S for my DVD drive, and I'm planning on replacing my LiteOn 8X CDRW (LONG overdue) with a DVD burner. I'll be using my Pioneer to rip DVDs and CD, and my DVD burner to burn DVDs and CDs.Originally posted by: hclarkjr

Any 8x media yet? I saw some Riteks, but I'm looking for more of a name brand like Verbatim. I know it's supposed to be out there, but I haven't found but maybe one place selling it.
