This is the combo I'm thinking about running. Would it keep a non OC XP 1600+ cool?

TIA,

I run the 8045 on my 1600+ with a slow 30cfm fan, and it keeps my 1600+@1575 mhz under 43C full load. Should be good to go.

Anand&Co tested the 8045 with a papst fan that's even weaker, and gave it their OK. So, yeh, it should be good, probably not for overclocking, though....

I have an Antec sx800 case and 5 Silencer fans. I use the stock Antec fan (34CFM) on my Alpha 8045 + XP 1800. I noticed that I get better cooling when set the fan to suck. I get about 40C idle, a bit high probably because I have an anti-static dryer sheet as dust filter.

I also use an antec case on my 8045 on an 1800+. My temps are about 39idle, 43 load. The heatsink runs about 4 degress hotter with the antec fan than with a 39 cfm sunon, but the antec is quiet.
